Interns will have access to EBS resources to deliver on small
business requirements and also master their skills.
Jan 2021: I would like to introduce to you, the IOS group. The IOS Group started in 2001 as a training service provider with Services Seta accreditation, led by John and Amanda O’Connor. They train students via an online courses. Students complete their courses using their mobile devices and write an exam online. Once complete with the online courses they do their practical’s at a company, which then allows them to qualify for a National Diploma.
The IOS group was looking for SME’s in Gert Sibande District in Mpumalanga to host interns for a minimum period of 3 months. I partnered with the IOS group on this initiative to train up an intern in back office activities, which I currently struggle keeping up with.
The IOS Group has partnered with the UIF, where the UIF provides a small Stipend for the intern to cover transport costs to the Host company. Host employers have the option of employing the Intern after the 3 month practical’s or can be a reference for the Intern, when the Intern applies for a job in the market. Thus there is no obligation by the Host company to employee the Intern on a full time basis. However, let us coach and position our interns on how to work in the working industry and carry out their responsibilities to the best of their abilities.
March 2021: We would like to appreciate Bhekumuzi Nkosi for spending a day with us. Bhekumuzi is a Grade 11 student from Evander High school, and was shadowing the team to learn about Business development and accounting as a possible future career, as he enjoys accounting at school. Thank you Silindile Repinga (Junior accountant) for sharing your accounting knowledge and what to expect when at university.
April 2021: Eben Business Solutions had the opportunity to host
Silindile Repinga as an intern for 3 months at our Secunda office. Silindile is
also a part-time university tutor and enjoys coaching students in accounting
subjects. Silindile is self-disciplined and purpose driven. After the
internship, Silindile was bold enough to establish his own business – Emnotweni
Consulting, providing accounting services and business development services.
Silindile enjoys auditing and has gained the experience of identifying SMME’s
needs to be compliant and competitive. Silindile is always willing to give his
best for his clients

The interns shadowed the Business Development specialists, Planner and Program director, and provided administrative support. The interns gained insight in the challenges that SMME's faced. The interns had the opportunity of creating online Diagnostic questionnaires and Youtube videos to assist SMME's. Karabo Thebe later provided back-office services to support 9 team members in the program.
